Mr. Tyler graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1948. During his time in college, he put his studies on hold to serve our country in WWII in the U.S. Navy. With a solid foundation in hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam power equipment, Mr. Tyler started Jack Tyler Engineering Company on June 1, 1963 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He retired in 1992, leaving his company in the capable hands of his daughter and son in law.
Cindy started working in the family business when she was eleven. Sherman and Cindy met at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and got married in 1976. Sherman started working for Jack Tyler Engineering Company at age 22. In 1992, the couple became owners of Jack Tyler Engineering. They continue to run the company with the same standard of excellence and care it was built upon.
Stephen’s first job with the company was as the janitor at age seven. After high school, Sherman told him, “Go get your degree and call me when you are 30!” Stephen graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, worked for 10 years doing a mix of engineering, sales, and sales-management. He joined the company in July, 2013.
